Common questions

How do I use the same library on my Mac and iPhone?

Keep the library file in iCloud Drive (on the Mac: File › Library Location…). On the iPhone, open the Library tab, choose Choose Library…, pick the folder that holds the library, then the library file.

A change I made on one device hasn't appeared on the other.

iCloud Drive sometimes takes a few minutes to copy a change, and pauses uploads when an iPhone's battery is low. Keep both devices online and charged, and open the Library tab again (or pull down to read again).

Can I use the apps without looking books up online?

Yes. Turn off "Look up titles online" (on the Mac in the Scan window, on the iPhone in Settings). You can type titles and authors yourself.
